Majestic Mount Rainier hovers over everything. This is from the ferry boat commute to the airport.
First flights conducted at KPWT. Mount Baker and Cascades in the background. Also notable is Puget Sound Naval Shipyard located in downtown Bremerton.
Me and Karen at Jefferson County airport. They have a great little cafe on the field.
Good food here and the setting is idyllic rural airport...
A good day flying with a friend.
Bill and Pam Hollifield, from Arkansas, take demo rides in my RV-12. Bill is another RV-12er.
Having a good day.
Hal and RV-12 N912HM in flight testing stage.
The RWY 34 runup area at Thun.

January 1, 2012 - First flight of the new year.
Mount Si sits at the gateway to Snoqualmie Pass east of Bellevue, WA. Looking East with I90 in the background.
The jagged peak of Mount Si. The big rock peak is called The Haystack. There is a popular hiking trail to the meadow near the top. Scrambling to Haystack not recommended for hikers. The trail hike is a steep 8 mile round trip with 3150 foot rise.
March 7, 2012, departing Thun Field, KPLU, in Hal's RV-12, we are off to test the autopilot and we will visit the small town of Packwood, just south of Mount Rainier.
The West side of Mt. Rainier. Many Glaciers in sight, the Puyallup Glacier is center.
Great scenery along the valley route to Packwood. Mt. Adams in the background.
On our left now going in is the big mountain. The Indians called it "Tahoma".
The little town of Packwood lies south of Mt. Rainier on Hiway 12 to White pass. That is the Cowlitz River which naturally originates from the Cowlitz Glacier.
The Packwood airport has a 2300' X 35' runway.
Heading in for a closer look at the mountain.
"Little Tahoma", center, the third highest peak in the state.
The picture taken at an altitude of 7500' MSL. Another little rock peak is on the horizon center. The view is northeast over the Cascade Range.
Zoomed in for a closer picture...no doubt this has a name, unkown to me tho'.
The South side of Mt. Rainer. There are many glaciers in view, Tahoma and Little Tahoma Glaciers, the Kautz Glacier, Nisqually Glacier, Cowlitz Glacier. In the bottom of picture is the road to Paradise vistor center which is visible in the lower right corner of the picture.
A portion of Paradise Ridge, I think. A good place for a Warren Miller extreme sking movie.
